Watch the Guernsey Welfare Service trolley dash
This Christmas we’ve hosted two trolley dashes – one in Guernsey and one in Jersey.
Each dash has had the double benefit of raising lots of money for charity, and giving the lucky winners a free trolley-full of goods! They fit perfectly with the reason for the season, and we were delighted to sponsor and host them.
In Guernsey, the trolley dash was in aid of Guernsey Welfare Service (GWS). This local charity supports a variety of people who find themselves in financial need, through its vouchers, food bank, and life skill coaching sessions.
The GWS Trolley Dash took place early on a December morning at Grand Marché St Martin. The lucky winner was Michelle from Herm.
She had just two minutes to grab as much as she could from around the store.

After the quickest food shop of her life, Michelle came away with around £150 worth of goods to take back to Herm for Christmas. We asked her what she thought about the experience - would she do it again?:
The 2018 GWS trolley dash may be complete, but you can still support this vital local charity by donating items to the food donation boxes found in our Guernsey Grand Marché stores.
Our other trolley dash in Jersey was in aid of Headway Jersey and the winner was Daniel Romeril. Check out our blog post to see how he did!
